Bowling Green- Eastern Missouri Commission Company Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 05/05/2017 Receipts: 893 Week ago: 2422 Year ago: 601 Compared to last week, a very light test of feeder cattle sold with a steady to firm undertone on a few comparable sales as slaughter steers and heifers (18 percent) and slaughter cows (32 percent) accounted for 50 percent of the total receipts. Demand was moderate to good with supply light. A nice offering of slaughter cows traded steady to 2.00 higher. Fed cattle trade this week was 7.00-10.00 higher giving support to the market but CME cattle futures sold off sharply at the end of the week. Feeder supply consisted of 51 percent steers and bulls, 49 percent heifers and 31 percent weighed over 600 lbs.
