Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 06/17/2016

Receipts:  415   Last Week: 785    Year ago:  605

Compared to last week, a very light test of feeder calves was not well
tested but traded with a lower undertone.  Bulk of Friday’s receipts was
slaughter and bred cows.  Slaughter cows sold firm to 2.00 higher.  Extreme heat
this week has kept receipts light as fed cattle trade has been sharply lower and
cattle futures this week started with limit losses and lost round the rest of
the week.  Slaughter and bred cows accounted for near 70 percent of the total
receipts.  Feeder supply included 53 percent steers, 47 percent heifers and 40
percent over 600 lbs.
