Bowling Green- Eastern Missouri Commission Company Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 07/14/2017 Receipts: 963 Two Weeks ago: 773 Year ago: 600 There has been no real good comparison on feeders, especially yearlings for several weeks with the bulk of Friday's sale weighing 600-850 lbs. Several lots and packages of good black yearlings sold with very good demand on a light to moderate supply all selling with a sharply higher undertone. Feeder calves under 600 lbs were very lightly tested but sold with good demand on a higher undertone. A light test of slaughter cows sold steady. CME cattle futures surprised many this week with sharp gains in the middle of July along with a higher fed cattle trade this week, mostly 2.00 higher at 120.00 help give support to the market. Slaughter cows accounted for near 10 percent of the total receipts. Feeder supply consisted of 60 percent steers and bulls, 40 percent heifers and 65 percent weighing over 600 lbs. Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 pkg 490 lbs 181.00; few 500-550 lbs 185.00-189.00, pkg 575 lbs 166.00; lot 645 lbs 174.00, 65-=700 lbs 160.50- 172.00; 700-800 lbs 156.00-167.50; 800-825 lbs 159.00-163.75. Medium and Large 1-2 350-400 lbs 175.00-192.00; 400-450 lbs 183.00-185.00; 500-600 lbs 162.50- 171.00; 600-700 lbs 156.00-160.50; few 700-800 lbs 145.50-149.50. Medium and Large 2 525-530 lbs 159.00-171.00; 600-620 lbs 150.00-153.50; pkg 780 lbs 140.00.
