Bowling Green- Eastern Missouri Commission Company Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 07/28/2017 Receipts: 764 Week ago: 387 Year ago: 822 Compared to two weeks ago, (last week was a Special Bred Cow sale) the best comparison was on a light test of 550-650 lb steers and heifers weighing 550-700 lbs sold mostly steady with all other weights too lightly tested for a comparison. The best demand was on two pot loads of big yearling steers weighing 1010-1025 lbs selling with good demand. Slaughter cows sold steady to firm with spots 2.00 higher on the high dressing cows. Demand was moderate to good with supply light. Slaughter cows accounted for near 18 percent of the total receipts with slaughter steers and heifers making up 8 percent of the otal receipts. Feeder supply consisted of 73 percent steers and bulls, 27 percent heifers and 65 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
