Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 09/18/2015
Receipts: 765 Last Week: 1230
Friday's sale was a Special Bred Cow and Pairs sale with very light receipts
of feeder cattle. Feeder cattle were very lightly tested with not enough
feeders of anyone weight range for a market test; however a sharply lower
undertone was noted. Feeder sales were mostly singles, odds and small packages.
Bred Cows and Pairs sold with moderate to good demand, with several packages of
top quality 1st calf heifer pairs on offer. Slaughter cows sold 1.00-4.00
lower. Supply included 70 percent slaughter cows and replacement cows with 30
percent feeders. Feeder Supply included 62 percent steers and bulls and 32
percent heifers.
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 few 400-450 lbs 242.00-253.00; few 500-550
lbs 215.00-226.00, pkg 550 lbs 210.00; few 700-750 lbs 189.50-190.00. Medium
and Large 1-2 few 350-400 lbs 255.00-260.00; pkg fleshy 550 lbs 195.00, few
550-600 lbs 200.50-211.00; pkg 605 lbs 205.00; few 700-750 lbs 184.00-185.00.
Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 few 450-500 lbs 214.50-225.00; pkg 550 lbs
