Bowling Green- Eastern Missouri Commission Company Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 09/23/2016 Receipts: 521 Week ago: 831 Year ago: 120 Compared to last week, a light run of steers and heifer calves traded mostly steady on comparable sales. Several packages and small bunches of unweaned calves all sold with moderate demand as most area farmers are harvesting crops. Slaughter cows traded mostly steady to 3.00 lower on average to low dressing cows. Hot weather this week also slowed receipts as offering was light. Cattle on Feed Report was released Friday afternoon looking pretty much neutral with trade expectations; August Placements were larger than expected. On feed came in at 101.5 percent, Placements at 115.00 percent, Marketings came in at 117.6 percent. Slaughter cows accounted for near 20 percent of the total receipts. Feeder supply consisted of 57 percent steers, 43 percent heifers, and near 48 percent weighing over 600 lbs. Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 pkg 400 lbs 170.00, few 450-500 lbs 152.50- 165.00; few 500-550 lbs 151.50-155.50, 550-600 lbs 137.00-145.50; few 600-700 lbs 135.00-140.00. Medium and Large 1-2 500-600 lbs 142.50-153.00; 600-700 lbs 134.50-145.00; pkg 880 lbs 113.25. Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 143.50-148.00; pkg 598 lbs 131.50; 650-700 lbs 123.50-128.50; pkg fleshy 740 lbs 106.25.
