Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 11/30/2018
Receipts: 1718 Week Ago: 661 Year ago: 1815
Compared to the last special three weeks ago, steer and heifer calves
weighing 500-800 lbs sold mostly steady on comparable sales, with 550-600
lb steer and heifer calves spots 5.00 higher. Yearling feeders were
scarce. Slaughter cows sold steady to firm with last week. Many small
packages and singles on offer with many unweaned, fleshy and no
vaccination program sold with light demand. Best demand was on weaned
calves with supply moderate. Slaughter cows accounted for near 25
percent of the total receipts, with slaughter steers and heifers
accounting for 10 percent. Feeder supply consisted of 40 percent steers,
12 percent bulls, 48 percent heifers and 54 percent weighing over 600
lbs.
