Eastern MO. Commission Company’s annual Thanksgiving weekend Special
Bred Cow and Heifer Sale including Cow/Calf Pairs was held Saturday
November 28, 2020. A very good offering of top quality Black bred
heifers, with top quality blk young cows and young cow/calf pairs sold
with active bidding from a large standing room only crowd of buyers.
Overall quality was good from start to finish. Demand was good with a
moderate to heavy supply of bred cows and pairs.
Bred Heifers: Medium and Large 1 consignment top quality black Western
Origin 1125-1175 lbs 3rd stage 2000.00-2075.00, top quality 1050-1135 lbs
2nd stage 1725.00-1825.00, pkg 1035 lbs 1st stage 1600.00. Medium 1-2
900-960 lbs 2nd stage 1275.00-1350.00.

Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves were lightly tested with
last week's special with most of the calves unweaned and very few having
vaccination shots, yearlings were scarce with steers and heifers weighing
over 650 lbs were calves. Slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 lower with
bulk of the cows average to low dressing cows.

Compared to the last special two weeks ago, feeder steers weighing 400-
700 lbs sold 3.00-6.00 higher with weights over 700 lbs not well tested
on limited sales. Feeder heifers weighing 400-700 lbs sold steady to
5.00 higher with weights over 700 lbs trading with a higher undertone.
There was a nice offering of good quality mostly weaned calves weighing
450-650 lbs selling with moderate to good demand. Slaughter cows sold
steady to firm.
