Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 12/22/2017
Receipts: 478 Week ago: 1550 Year ago: No sale
Compared to last week, a very light test of feeders under 650 lbs sold mostly
steady on comparable sales to end the year. Demand was moderate on a light
supply. Slaughter cows traded mostly steady on a supply of mostly average
dressing cows. Cattle on Feed report was released Friday afternoon with bearish
results as Placements were above expectations at 114 percent with average guess
at 106 percent with CME cattle futures closing with solid triple digit losses.
Slaughter cows accounted for near 25 percent of the total receipts. Feeder
cattle consisted of 51 percent steers and bulls, 49 percent heifers and neat 47
percent weighing over 600 lbs.

740 lbs calves 145.00. Medium and Large 1-2 pkg 370 lbs 187.00; few 400-485

Large 2 pkg 540 lbs 138.00, pkg 658 lbs 138.00.
