Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 06/09/2017
Receipts: 1253 Week ago: 525 Year ago: 785
Compared to the last special two weeks ago, feeder steers under 700 lbs were
very lightly tested on comparable sales, with the best test on 700-750 lb steers
selling mostly 5.00 higher and weights over 750 lbs not well tested. The best
test on feeder heifers were weighing 500-650 lbs trading 5.00-10.00 higher with
all other weights lightly tested. Slaughter cows sold 2.00-4.00 higher. Demand
was moderate to good with supply moderate. Overall quantity and quality of
feeder calves under 650 lbs were not as attractive as two weeks ago. Slaughter
cows accounted for near 12 percent of the total receipts. Feeder supply
consisted of 52 percent steers and bulls, 48 percent heifers and 74 percent
weighing over 600 lbs.
