Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 10/26/12
Receipts: 1751 Week Ago: 961 Year Ago: 2255
Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers under 700 lbs
steady to 3.00 higher, with too few good comparisons on weights over
700 lbs for a market test. Slaughter cows steady. Several nice
strings of both calves and yearlings sold with considerably more
yearlings in the offering than in the past couple of auctions. Despite
high feed costs, the tight nationwide supply of feeder cattle has the

and yearlings up 5.00-10.00. Demand moderate to good and supply
moderate. The run consisted of 12 percent cows with 55 percent of the
feeder supply steers and bulls, 45 percent heifers, and 63 percent of
the feeders over 600 lbs.
