Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 10/28/2016
 
Receipts:  1128        Week ago: 819      Year ago: 1300
  
      Compared to the last special two weeks ago, steer calves sold mostly 7.00-
12.00 higher with 700-750 lb yearling steers trading 12.00-15.00 higher; heifer
calves under 600 lbs sold mostly 10.00-15.00 higher with instances 20.00 higher
and heifers over 600 lbs trading with a higher undertone on a light test. 
Demand was much improved as fed cattle traded mostly 5.00 higher this week at
105.00 and cattle futures for the week traded mostly higher giving support
to the market.  Overall quality was very attractive on steer and heifer calves
as they sold with good demand with many packages and lots weaned.  Slaughter
cows sold fully steady with last week.  Slaughter cows accounted for 12 percent
of the total receipts with slaughter cattle accounting for near 10 percent.
Feeder supply consisted of 60 percent steers, 40 percent heifers and 33 percent
weighing over 600 lbs.

144.00-145.00, pkg thin 155.00; 500-550 lbs 136.00-144.50, 550-600 lbs 126.50-
136.50; 600-650 lbs 128.50-137.25, 650-700 lbs yearlings 137.50-139.25, calves
120.00-124.00; 700-750 lbs 129.50-137.75, pkg calves 705 lbs 115.50.  Medium and
Large 1-2  few 300-350 lbs 158.00-171.00, 350-400 lbs few 148.00-164.00; 400-500
lbs 137.50-143.50; 500-600 lbs 127.00-136.50; 600-700 lbs 122.00-126.50; 700-800
lbs 119.50-123.00.

Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 10/28/2016

   Compared to the last special two weeks ago, steer calves sold mostly 7.00-
12.00 higher with 700-750 lb yearling steers trading 12.00-15.00 higher; heifer 
calves under 600 lbs sold mostly 10.00-15.00 higher with instances 20.00 higher 
and heifers over 600 lbs trading with a higher undertone on a light test.  
Demand was much improved as fed cattle traded mostly 5.00 higher this week at

to the market.  Overall quality was very attractive on steer and heifer calves
