Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 09/07/2018
Receipts: 581 Week ago: 513 Year ago: 1276
Compared to last week a light test of feeders traded mostly steady to
firm on comparable sales of calves with many short weaned and unweaned.
Demand was moderate to good on a light supply. Slaughter cows sold
steady to firm. Slaughter cows accounted for near 27 percent of the
total receipts, slaughter steers and heifers totaled 12 percent with the
balance feeders. Feeder supply consisted of 60 percent steers and bulls,
40 percent heifers and 13 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 few 400-450 lbs 185.00-189.00.
Medium and Large 1-2 350-400 lbs 182.00-195.00; few 430-500 lbs 165.00-
171.00; 500-550 lbs 159.00-166.00, 550-600 lbs 150.50-158.50; 600-700 lbs
mostly calves 139.50-150.50; few 700-725 lbs 145.00-149.50.
Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 157.50-166.00; 500-550
lbs 157.50-158.50; pkg 640 lbs 147.50. Medium and Large 1-2 pkg 325 lbs
