Bowling Green - Eastern Missouri Commission Company
Cattle Auction Report for 12/16/2016

Receipts:  1719    Week Ago:  2342    Year Ago:  1337

   Not enough feeder cattle on offer to test the market. Slaughter cows steady.
Supply was heavy for the regularly scheduled monthly cow sale with several hundred
bred heifers and young cows on offer. Demand was light to moderate as the first
winter weather event moved into the area just shortly before sale time, making
travel hazardous and the prospect of owning new stock less appealing that just a
few hours before. Cows and bulls accounted for 69 percent of the total offering.
The feeder supply consisted of 60 percent steers and bulls and 40 percent heifers;
27 percent of all the feeder cattle weighed over 600 lbs.
